Hazardous Waste Install
Liquid nicotine - which is found in 99% of vapes - is a neurotoxin and considered acute hazardous waste by the EPA. That's why vaping can be such a toxic addiction. To educate teens and young adults about the dangers of vape products, we created a traveling Hazardous Waste install and activity. This install not only educates them on proper disposal, but it offers free tools to go vape-free. After all, if something has the same disposal guidelines as rat poison, is it really something you want to inhale?
This Hazardous Waste install features simulated toxic spills, barrels, smoke, caution signs, and glowing green lights. This eye-opening experience will remind youth what these toxins can do to the planet and their bodies - because toxic chemicals don't belong in a teen's lungs. This display makes it easy to have open conversations about vaping and its dangers.
Black Light Mural Activity
There is a lot of misinformation about vaping, especially among youth. This is because the tobacco industry doesn't give youth all the information they need to make an informed decision about what they're putting into their bodies. This activity helps illustrate that youth aren't getting the entire message about vaping.
Students will paint individual squares to create a large mural. This is an activity that can be done during a class period or lunch hour. The pieces are then all hung on the wall to create the bigger picture, helping illustrate they're only being given part of the message about vaping.
